"I'm so proud that we earned this championship today with a win here in Sonoma. It was a perfect weekend for the No. 22 HPE Chevrolet. I'm so proud of my team for their performance, they gave me amazing stops all year long. And thanks to Team Penske for providing us with the best cars in the paddock.
This is a dream come true. Thanks to everyone who has supported me during my career, I feel so fortunate to be here right now." -- Simon Pagenaud

Perfect race weekends like this one in Barber don't come around that often! The No. 22 team gave me a fantastic car today, and I feel so happy to have brought another win home for them. The crew, engineers and strategists on this team are firing on all cylinders right now. I had a great battle with Graham Rahal in the last 10 laps, which probably made a great show for the fans! He pushed me off the track, but I miraculously recovered control and decided to win at all costs! Two wins in a row is a good omen for the championship.

Three consecutive victories is simply amazing! I'm so glad to see these perfect runs, and we experienced a perfect weekend here in Indianapolis with a pole position and third consecutive win.
In auto racing the decisions must be made quickly, and each decision made today was right! I'm very proud of my team, we are living incredible moments right now and enjoying them fully. Thanks to our partner Menards for joining us. Penske and Menard are two names that have been to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway many times, and I'm very proud to have brought them a victory at the beginning of May.

Earning second place in the last race was welcome! We had a great car this weekend that allowed us to be in pole position in both races. Saturday, different strategies didn't play in our favor and we missed out on the win.
On the other hand the race on Sunday was perfect, but it was tricky with cold tires. However on long runs, we were very strong and our tires were perfect. Will Power was very aggressive on a restart, and I lost the advantage. The No. 22 team now has an 80 point lead in the championship which is great!

I'm satisfied because I think this race in Iowa was a good result for the championship. Our Menards Chevy was perfect at the start, then the track changed as our tires picked up debris. In our last adjustment in the pits we missed the front end, which ended our hopes to compete for the victory. We maintain our lead in the championship standings however, and this is very positive for Toronto next weekend.

Today was great because we were fighting for the win until the last refueling. Unfortunately during our last pit stop the safety car came out and we were shuffled to the back of the pack. That's just how racing goes sometimes though, and we have to keep working hard. We'll be back in Mid-Ohio, which is one of my favorite tracks, before you know it.

It's hard to explain how I feel! I didn't feel the pain in my back during the race, so I owe a huge thank you to the IndyCar medical center. It was a great race! I fought with Will Power until the end. There was a point where I saw an opportunity to pass, and I knew it was my chance. It was the perfect pass and it was incredible to drive under these conditions. It reminded me why I love Mid-Ohio!

"This race kept the suspense going until the end! We had a great car from the start and we were able to move up through the field methodically. What an incredible moment the finish of this race was, I just wish we could have been in the middle of the fight. This was a great finish for our championship points. With two races left at Watkins Glena and Sonoma, we really have a shot!" -- Simon Pagenaud

"It was great to see so many fans at the first IndyCar race back in Watkins Glen. The No. 22 team wasn't as quick as usual this weekend, but we were aggressive enough during the race to make up lots of positions!
After a great start, we went from seventh to third in the first corner. After we passed Will Power, he was involved in a crash. On our side we had to save fuel on our last stint so I wasn't able to really fight for position. We were able to gain quite a few points in the championship standings, and I can't wait to see how it turns out in Sonoma!" -- Simon Pagenaud

    A VERY GOOD START SEASON
"It was an awesome day, and a great weekend for us with the HPE car. We executed really well this weekend and I am really proud of my team. What a great effort with flawless pit stops and strategy! Thanks to them for dedicating so much time this winter to preparation. On a personal note, the restart when Montoya got by me was the key of the race. I had a lot of wheel spin and he took advantage of it. Overall it's a very positive start to the season and I'm looking forward to this 2016 season and what's next to come!"

"Taking the lead of the championship here in Phoenix is phenomenal. We had a hectic race, but manage to adapt our car well to race conditions. We had an unluckily timed pit stop which put us a lap down unfortunately. This is a true team sport though, and my gave me two amazing final pit stops, propelling me to the front. Once in the free air we could hunt Dixon. Finishing second allows us to take the championship lead. This is a very strong start to the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season for the No. 22 team!

What a start to the season to earn this win! My team is working perfectly now, and frankly it's a dream season start! Now that I've won my first race for Team Penske we can focus even closer to realize good performances. It was a great battle with Helio Castroneves and Scott Dixon today. The key was the last pit stop sequence where we were able to align two very fast laps when I rejoined the field. After that stop we took the lead and stayed out in front of Dixon! Long Beach is obviously a very important victory and has been a goal of mine for a long time. I am also very proud to win for Roger Penske. It's really a team sport and I have to thank the #22 team for their exceptional efforts.

"The team has done a tremendous job on the cars and we did our best to end the year in style last weekend but things didn’t fan out as planned because of problems encountered during the race. Congratulations to Scott Dixon on his title. I would also like to thank Avaya, HP, Hawk, Carlisle and Devilbiss, PPG, Chevy and Penske Truck Rental for everything they have done for me this year. We will now work hard to build our 2016 campaign based on the experience gained this season."

“Above all, my thoughts and prayers go out to Justin, his family and friends. Until I heard the sad news, I thought we had put in a great race – on the track and in the pits. The first 150 laps went really well as I tried to save fuel in my Chevy Penske Truck-backed car which handled fantastically all weekend."

  • "We were so far behind the leaders that there was no way I would be able to recover a position that would allow me to challenge for the win. That said, the Penske Truck Rental Chevy was competitive during my last two stints and that’s the positive I take with me to the next race at Mid-Ohio. Meanwhile, my thoughts go out to Jules Bianchi, his family and those who were close to him. We lost a friend and an incredible driver. There are no words to describe the sadness I feel."

"It was a good race for Chevy Penske Truck. I started from 17th on the grid after suffering from a balance issue during qualifying. Milwaukee isn’t an easy for overtaking, so I’m pretty pleased with the final result. It was a strong run but, once again, the result didn’t mirror our real level. I think the car’s set-up is going the way I want".
