• BACK ON THE PODIUM
"It’s incredible that we managed to bounce back from our worst qualifying session of the year to a podium finish. It’s sometimes amazing to see how things pan out. Until now, we have managed to qualify well without really being able to take advantage of that in the race. This time, it all worked out. The team’s strategy was really good and it’s nice to have a little good luck every now and again. We haven’t had much this season. But it was a great day and we were back on the podium!"

  • "We were so far behind the leaders that there was no way I would be able to recover a position that would allow me to challenge for the win. That said, the Penske Truck Rental Chevy was competitive during my last two stints and that’s the positive I take with me to the next race at Mid-Ohio. Meanwhile, my thoughts go out to Jules Bianchi, his family and those who were close to him. We lost a friend and an incredible driver. There are no words to describe the sadness I feel."

  • “WE JUST NEED TO WORK ON THE DETAILS”
"It was a good race for Chevy Penske Truck. I started from 17th on the grid after suffering from a balance issue during qualifying. Milwaukee isn’t an easy for overtaking, so I’m pretty pleased with the final result. It was a strong run but, once again, the result didn’t mirror our real level. I think the car’s set-up is going the way I want".

  • A MAIDEN OVAL POLE !
"It’s great to have been in front at an oval thanks to Penske and Chevy who made that a possibility. My car was excellent. In fact, we’ve been competitive at every race since the start of the season but I had nothing to show for it. I am therefore very proud to have qualified on pole. My car was fantastic during the race, too. The power of the Chevy engine is a big help at a track like Fontana. To be truthful, though, I’m not a big fan of this type of race."

  • RACE-WINNING POTENTIAL
"It was a tough day for the guys who work on the N°22 Avaya Chevy. Our car showed it had the potential to challenge for victory today. Unfortunately, I lost a number of positions at the re-start while trying to battle with Will. I knew I had an excellent car in my hands and it was the right time to fight for the win".

  • 59 LAPS IN FRONT
"It was an evening of ups and downs for Avaya Chevrolet. My car felt really good running at the front of the field with the aerodynamic set-up we had prepared. Unfortunately, I picked up an electrical problem on my weight distribution system which altered the balance of my car until we got a chance to reboot the system during a neutralisation period".

  • FIRST PODIUM SUCCESS OF 2015
"I can’t thank my team enough for its smart strategic thinking for the first race in Detroit. It was a fairly risky move because we didn’t know exactly when the rain would come back. I stayed out on slicks a little longer, then we chose the ideal moment to change and that helped me on my way to my first podium finish with Penske".

  • CHALLEGING FOR THE WIN UNTIL 30 LAPS FROM HOME
"My car was incredibly competitive. I would like to thank everyone at Team Penske. They worked tirelessly to provide me with a car that was not only fast but also comfortable to drive. What a great day and what race! My team was up there at the top and our pit stops were perfectly slick".

  • A HISTORIC QUALIFYING PERFORMANCE!
"Contesting the Indianapolis 500 for Team Penske is a huge privilege. You only have to look at the names of the drivers who have defended its colours over the years to realise that. It’s incredible to be part of its line-up today. Its car preparation, engineering work and resources are of an exceptionally high standard. That goes a long way to explaining why my Avaya Chevrolet is so well-placed on the grid."

  • IN THE HUNT FOR VICTORY
"I had to be extremely aggressive, push hard and overtake as many cars as possible. It was a pretty exhilarating phase of the race and I was pleased with the way I drove. Even so, the performance level of my car deserved a better result than the one we obtained."

  • P5 IS A GOOD START
"You just can't walk onto a team and push your teammates out of the way. I didn't want create a mess at the start of the race, which I thought was a smart move but it was too cautious, which cost me a position during the race. P5 is a good start to the season and I'm excited about the next race already coming up in NOLA."
